Uhm, hi there!
So, how you doing? You look a bit tired today... not been bothering with make-up either I see? Well, I guess its not a total disaster, but tomorrow I would put a bit on, not a bad idea!
Uhm.. yeah, so this is a little strange and I really don't know what I'm supposed to say. You've been there through it all, you've seen some pretty hideous things but I thank you for at least STARTING to co-operate with me a little bit.
I really should make an effort with the last of the 50 day challenge, but I really don't know what to write! So I'm just going to say this: Could you please stop copying me?
Thanks,
You.
(I'll add a picture just to make it look a bit better)
Because I'm cool!
But keep an eye out guys because I might carry on with this shizzle! Might not be until after Christmas now because I have a lot of deadlines, but I'll keep you posted! Have fun!

Day 49 (Hopes, dreams and wishes for the next 365 days)
Wow! Coming to the end of my blogging marathon (I've been pretty faithful to it, I must say.. apart from the last few days where I have literally been on my computer not doing work for about 5 mins overall!) So this is quite a deep blog, and I'm not great with getting into stuff, can't think on the spot and all that jazz. So what I'm gonna do is make a bullet list and hopefully I will be able to think of stuff.
- Complete and do well on my second year of University.
- Over the summer go on Camp America.
- Realise what I want to do with my life
- Grow in confidence and feel that I can go out into the world without being shy
- Have fun, laugh, cry and be myself.
- Make money
- Learn not to stress to much and chill out a bit!
- Make sure I keep on playing my saxophone (I miss it!)
- Learn to smile at people again
- Just have a good time I suppose!
Wow... deep.. Yeah.

Day 48 (A photo of you right now)
This really was the worst blog for me today after lack of sleep and a long day at uni! But ah well! Here is me, enjoying my tea and talking to Danielle.. Enjoy!

Day 47 (Birthday Wish list)
Sorry for the break in blogging by the way guys! Was home over the weekend and didn't have much of a chance to blog properly and then this week so far have been busy busy with work (hence why I'm blogging at 1am since I've only just given up on doing work...)
Righto! Birthday wishlist? Well lets change it to Christmas since that is closer... I havn't got many ideas so I'm just gonna go with what comes to my head:
Dear Father Christmas,
I promise I have been a good girl this year - I've handed in all my work on my deadlines and mostly chosen work over play... I've not been (intentionally) mean or nasty to anyone and I always eat up all my vegetables. So please please Mr Claus, could you make my Christmas wishes come true?
(Now to crudely just put a list of stuff)

- Perfume
- A nice bag to take my stuff to Uni, maybe a leather sort of satchel or something like that.
- Some nice tops/dresses for the winter time
- Maybe a decent pair of jeans (or money to buy them?)
- DVDs? I'm always wanting Disney DVDs, but you might want to check my collection because I wouldn't really want any repeats. Other DVDs are good too... in general I am trying to extend my collection so I am open to anything really..
- A good book - I've not been reading anything at the moment and I really want to get back into reading, so a good book to make me read again!
Uhhm... that is seriously all I can think of...In general at the moment I am wanting new clothes because I don't really like half the stuff in my wardrobe... but that is all I think of that I really want most of the time.. which says a lot about me I suppose.. But if anyone wants to go on a Theatre Trip that would also be a lovely present to me :) There are so many shows I want to go and see so we could buy tickets for each other and go together! Let me know if you want to do that. I particularly want to see Warhorse and Pricilla at the moment but I am up for most things really! Thank you kindly Santa,
With love,
Ida

Day 46 (Photos of Personal Things in your Life)
This is one of my all time favourite photos! This is my family :) We were on holiday in Scotland, our last family holiday in fact! We rock! |
This is Barney! I love him lots :) He loves to sit anywhere that is more comfortable than the floor. |
This was Storm and he was the bestest dog in the world. Sadly he died about this time last year :( I miss him lots and I will always remember him. |
This is Honey, the newest addition to the house. She is very cute but naughty! |
Here is Roxy and Monty. Sadly we lost Monty last year... We lost Roxy too but she came back which was magical :) |
These are my housemates this year who I am unfortunate enough to have to live with for the next year or two.. how am I going to cope!? |
And last, but most definitely not least this is my boyfriend. Gorgeous isn't he? :) |

Day 45 (A letter to yourself a year ago)
Hey little ninja!
So at the moment you're coming to the end of your first term at University and you might be starting to stress about the workload... Yes it is a lot, and yes it takes quite a lot of concentration but just lock yourself in your room, fill up your wonderful chocolate drawer and get on with it! Because in the end its all worth while (but no spoilers!) :P.
You've certainly been enjoying yourself! And don't stop... in fact, when people ask you to go out and you say yes, go! I know you'll be thinking "Should I? Shouldn't I?" and in the end you may come to the conclusion that you shouldn't go out, but you really should because friends are important and this is the year that you CAN go out and have fun because the marks, they don't really count in the end! Of course get on with it, go to all your lectures but don't let it stop you going out.
You're also probably starting to think about where you're going to live next year, but you feel its too early to start looking and you're still not sure about who you'll live with. Well, actually it is a good idea to start searching now... perhaps talk to that guy, Ben, from your class. He's a great guy and you get on really well as it is now - you'll be great friends by the time you are me!!
There isn't really much to worry about at the moment. One small bit of advise I will give you is learn to relax, because hopefully that will rub off on me in time... you're too uptight and controlling, let go a bit!! But all in all, it will be a good year for you. Oh! During your summer this year you will talk about doing LOADS but it never really happened... so keep that in mind and start thinking about it now, and maybe you'll have a really great time. It'll be good to have some more treasured memories.
Well, have a great Christmas! Give Greg lots of love and hugs because he will be away for a long time... and towards the end of the year give you a bit of worry, but it'll be okay, I promise :)
Learn to love yourself, grow in confidence and I'm sure you'll do okay; I know you get down on yourself a lot but you have lots of great friends and family and they love you a lot. You know this, but sometimes its hard to remember.
Have a great year and have fun and maybe then you'll be a better person than I am.

Day 44 (Something that fascinates you and why)
What fascinates me? Well there are many many things! But the one I am going to talk about tonight is the Theatre! Mostly because I just got home from an amazing production ("Charged" in Soho Theatre - highly recommended) and partly because it is true, the Theatre fascinates me! Why is this? Well, are so many different types of theatres, so many varieties and people in it. You can always go and see something with expectations, and most of the time you will be surprised. There is so much to enjoy about the theatre and something much more personal and touching than just sitting in front of a television or in the cinema. (Sorry about the stream of conciousness but the best way to put across a sense of fascination is to just write and not worry about what you are writing). You can enjoy the Theatre with other people, or even go alone (not that I have, this is something I have yet to do!). You don't even have to go to a theatre to see theatre, you can walk down the street and BAM, theatre can hit you right in the face. You could go down into a dungeon or even (ha!) a boathouse and create or envision theatre. Theatre talks to people; it can be used to make a change in people or make people see things in a different way. There is always new theatre and ways to make it different, and yet theatre is one of the most ancient art forms or even forms of entertainment!
I'm not going to bore you any longer with me blabbing on about how wonderful theatre is. Go see it for yourself! Theatre is everywhere, just take a look. Read this blog and then think, to hell with it! I'm going to book and go to the theatre, because it is amazing and you will enjoy it! Okay so there is some arty farty crap out there... but take a gamble, see something different and be inspired.

Day 43 (Your favourite place in the world)
This might seem a little obvious or cheesy, but this is my family home, and it is my favourite place in the world. I love it because its somewhere where I know I will always find comfort and affection, I will always be welcome and I fit in. Its not the house I love - that could be anywhere in the world, but its the home and the people. I will always love going back here even though I don't really live there any more. Its just home :)

Day 42 (Bad Habits of yours)
Okay, so I'm sat here with my housemates so they can help me! But its not going to be hard, I'm not perfect in any way. Not like Mary Poppins, oh no.
- My chocoholicism - I just have to eat chocolate. Every day, oh yes, every day!!
- Control Freak (especially in the kitchen). I have to be in control of everything. If someone is cooking I will try and take over or tell them how to do it... I just can't help it... oops!
- Over-thinking things... This morning for example, I had my coat on and was ready to go 10 mins before I had to leave... and I sat there squirming and trying to decide when to leave.
- Buying things online! I hate having a debit card because its just TOO easy. I hate buy it now, it kills me. It really does.
- "Oh. Really?" is apparently something I say when I don't agree with something or think differently. I've not noticed this, but apparently I do!
- Letting people wind me up. Story of my life! Everyone I'm close to knows that I will react and so they keep winding and winding and winding. I'm getting better with it but yeah!
- My "blondness"! Despite dying my hair brown (surprise!) I'm really ditzy and I come out with loads of blonde comments and sound really stupid most of the time.
- My low self-esteem - I really don't believe in myself or that I can do stuff..
Well! They didn't have trouble helping me with that... Nice! Loool! I'm sure many of you can think of other stuff so feel free to list! I was only gonna put 5 up as well... dang!

Day 40
Today's blog is supposed to be "A Letter to a deceased person you wish to talk to", but I don't feel that this is the place to put this sort of thing personally. So instead I am going to put up a video that my Mum would have enjoyed:
We used to listen to The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the car on our travels.
Love you Mum :)

Hmmm! Well I think all these traits could apply to anyone surely? I wouldn't say I'm inflexible or greedy... I can be jealous and possessive and resentful... And I'd like to say I am with all the positive ones? Personally I think star signs are just cool to relate to people but I don't really believe they actually apply. When you read horoscopes and think "Oh my God, that is so true!!" it could be true to a scorpio or virgo as well... I don't really think that there is anything in it! But here we go, I am a Taurus, team member of Team Taurus and we rule :)

Day 38 (A photo of your parents)
Hehee! I love this picture. Afraid its a bit blurry but it is an action shot! This was in Scotland on our last family holiday! They look so happy :)
My letter to the BBC about Student Protests
Firstly I want to express my disappointment with the Liberal Democrat party; I voted for the lib dems largely for the fact that the majority of the party pledged to vote against any rises in tuition fees and University cuts (especially Nick Clegg). I now feel that my vote was wasted and I will hesitate to believe any pledges or promises made by the party in the future and will be reluctant to waste my vote on them next time.
Secondly I want to talk about the march. I was there at the march and feel it was a great success. I am disappointed with the violent end but even more so at the media's biased coverage of it; too much attention has been focussed on the select few who caused the clashes and fails in the police - what about the success of the other 49, 800 people protesting peacefully? Also I feel that the media have made it look worse than it was. I was an observer for a part of the "violence" and I saw no threats to police officers or to the staff of the building. It was mostly vandalism with the select few people acting out violently which is regrettable, but inevitable in such a clash. I feel that, although I wish it hadn't ended as such, it is a small price in comparison to the damage the cuts will cause to the country.
Finally I want to talk about the focus on the raise in tuition fees. Little has been noted on the actual cuts which I think are despicable. If the cuts go ahead there is a likelihood that my University, Roehampton, will close down which is devastating. The Government have no right to judge what they think is "useful" or "not useful" to study at University. I study Drama, which many people would snuff at but few people know that it is the second most employable degree with a huge range of skills at the end: communication, team work, philosophy, history, geography, psychology, presentation skills to mention the least. I think it is disgusting that the Government feel that they have the right to discredit these degrees which are actually, at the end of the day, very useful to society.
I hope that people will stand up and listen to the student voices because the actions which took place yesterday prove the anger that students and lecturers feel and the desperation to be heard.

Hehee!! This is a South-African song my sister introduced to me, great to dance to :D

Day 36 (Some hobbies of yours)
I would like to say I'm a woman of many hobbies... I'd like even, to put that I go to sports clubs every week and compete and get fit! But alas.. my hobbies are few are far between, but I suppose I can give a nice little list.
1) Playing my saxamaphone! I love playing, especially in the Rock and Jazz band which basically feels like an extension on my family! Ahhh I miss it!!
2) Going to the theatre! Being a drama student it shouldn't surprise you! I love the theatre and all the wonderful shows and plays you can go and see.
3) Reading... even though I don't do it very often any more, I adore reading! I need to find me a good book and some spare time to get back into it.
Uhhm, so yeah...those are the hobbies I can think of at the moment...which is a pretty short list, so I'll give you a list of hobbies I'd like to take up at some point:
1) Rock Climbing - I used to do it when I was a lot younger and I really miss it, so I'd like to take that up again when I can!
2) A competitive sport - I love competing but was put off during secondary school because I was silly!! I really should take up a sport again.
3) Running - I like running! It runs (ha!) in my blood and I'd like to do it properly at some point.
Hmmmm... so yes! There we go. The successful life of Ida-May Jones, or not so much. But we will see!

Day 35 (A letter to your crush)
Dear Gethin,
I hope this doesn't scare you or make me think I am strange, but I truly admire you in all aspects. You are, lets face it, gorgeous... you seem a genuinely nice guy who loves kids!! You are sporty and active and obviously quite clever. I do truly believe that you would be a wonderful boyfriend, one who would buy flowers and just really appreciate a girl for being herself. I'm sorry to come across as so strange and obsessive... I'm really not, but if I were to have a crush it would be on you.
Thank you for your beauty,
Yours,
Ida-May
Alan,
I know I am so young and perhaps yes, you are a little too old for me and no, I would never want a relationship with you. But in your youth you were quite a catch! And I cannot stress enough how much I love your voice! If I knew that I could listen to your voice for the rest of my life I would be happy.
Just thought you'd like to know.
Yours faithfully,
Ida-May

Day 34 (Your favourite Quote)
This has actually proved to be quite a difficult blog!! I've been thinking about it all day, and there are so many quotes that I love but I actually cannot think of my top ones at the moment... So what I'm going to do is list a few which I can think of, but be aware that they may not actually be my favourite!!!
"Why so sad beautiful lady?"
This is spoken by Prince Edward in the wonderful film Enchanted. I'm not sure why I love this quote so much but I just found it really memorable! I think its a nice thing to say because if someone said that to me I maybe wouldn't feel so sad afterwards.
"My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."
"Anybody want a peanut?"
I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Princess Bride. Its one of my all time favourite films and I've known it since my childhood. Inigo's quote is just a classic. Fezziks quote is hilarious if you know the context... which I can't be bothered to explain so just watch the damn film!!!
"That makes me want to buy a cake!"
This quote makes me laugh! This is a quote from one of my favourite TV programmes Larkrise to Candleford by Minnie. I like it because when something makes me happy I want to buy a cake too!
"Men speak conveniently of love when it serves their purpose"
This is from the best version of Robin Hood. I just like this quote because in experience I have found it to be true.
And last but not least, lets finish off with an inspiring quote:
"Women are like teabags. We don't know our true strength until we are in hot water."
These wise words were spoken by Eleanor Roosevelt. I found this quote on a mug that my brother brought for my step-mum, and I've always really admired this thought. I think it appeals to me because I don't feel strong and I don't stick up for myself in most situations but I do think that if I was put into a position where I truly needed to be strong I would surprise myself and others.
I hope that you've enjoyed my blog! Comments would be appreciated because I'd like to know who (if anyone) actually reads these? Or am I just wasting my time? Anyways, let me know! And enjoy!

Day 32 (A photo you took)
So today I've gone visiting at home so this blog was a bit more tricky because I don't have my photos saved on this computer (I know I could take them off facebook but thats just no fun!!) So I decided to take a photograph here... and because I've come home to see Greg and I've stolen his laptop i have taken a photograph of Greg! So here you go:

Day 31 (Whatever tickles your fancy)
I'm very sorry tonight guys but I just don't have the energy or time to be inventive!! I've had a long ass day with 7 hours in uni then straight to work until midnight... then having to get up at about 7.30 tomorrow so fun fun fun!! But actually I'm enjoying keeping busy, although I don't have time to do everything that I want to, it is good to not be sat at home all the time! So yes, sorry to disappoint any avid (ha!) readers!
Goodnight!

Day 30 (A letter to the friendliest person you knew for a day)
Dear Trawlers Fish and Chip Shop Customer,
I barely know you... I do not even know your name and I only spoke to you for perhaps five minutes but you said something which has stuck to me over a year on now. You told me that I have beautiful flawless skin which is the best compliment anyone could have given me at the time as I had just finished a rough course of treatment to fight my acne. Yes my friends and family had continuously said to me how much better my skin was, but coming from a stranger who didn't even know I'd suffered from a problem was simply amazing and I will never forget it. Keep complimenting strangers because compliments from people who don't 'have to' compliment you is so special and memorable, I just wish I could take on my own advice!
From a very grateful girl-who-used-to-work-in-trawlers, thank you.

Day 29 (Provide the HEX of your favourite colour)
Uhhhm! This is a kinda weird and boring post... but O.K.
Here is the HEX code of my favourite colour: #9E00AF
The colour is like, a deep purple.. Thats the colour of my room at Uni, and I do like it! Although its not very reliable because my favourite colour changes day to day. But... enjoy! I guess..

Day 28 (Favourite places to shop)
Oh dear! I guess this is a good one for me to do because I'm a bit of a shop-a-holic.... So I'll do a short list of my favourite places in no particular order:
- Ben's Cookies - Not really shopping but I can never walk past and not buy a cookie!
- FashionUnion.com - its a clothes website and just really cheap with quite decent stuff!!
- HMV - Cheap DVDs :D
- Argos - I like to make my room look nice :)
